Now that Governor Jindal
has vetoed the obscene pay raise, the focus of our site will be to
recall - remember - never forget - that Mike Michot is the only
Lafayette legislator to vote for every single version of the pay
raise (check the By the Numbers page for the various versions). In
fact, the original version (this would have put about $88,000 in his
pocket every year) sailed out of his Finance Committee without
objection. Not a peep out of Michot in committee but lots of hot
air in the media defending the pay raise and his callous disregard
of his constituents wishes. Michot has proven he cannot be
trusted, so for the foreseeable future, this site will be devoted to
keeping close watch on Senator Michot - and for that matter - anyone
and anything else affecting our area. And when you have something
to say about what's going on in Baton Rouge or anywhere else, feel
free to continue posting your comments. This site is dedicated to
you --- this veto victory is yours. Every one of you who called,
emailed, wrote or in any way contacted your legislators and the
governor are the real heroes in this saga. You kept the pressure
on, you never let up....
